My name is Jane Miles and i am the sole artist here at Baby Storks Nursery. All of the babies reborn here are created with lots of love and care, they are all given a realistic skin tone using Genesis heat set paints and weighted to have the feel of a real baby.

What is Reborning/Newborning

Reborning is the term used where you take an ordinary play doll and completely take it apart,the head and limbs are then stripped of the factory paint. The head and limbs are then given a lovely bubble bath, left to dry and then are repainted using genesis heat set paints. These paints are very versitile and you can create the perfect baby skin tone with them. Once painted the limbs are given a new body, usually a jointed soft body is used so that it can be stuffed and weighted as is the limbs. The head is given new eyes (if open eyed) eyelashes which are usually hand rooted with mohair and given a new head of hair, hand rooted using mohair.

Newborning is just the same as i have explained except you purchase the head and limbs as a kit and the vinyl comes as a bare canvas ready to paint.

I mainly buy vinyl kits to reborn as it saves lots of time and nowadays there are some really nice kits on the market which are so lifelike. I just want to say a big thank you to all the artists who sculpt these kits because without them we would not be able to enjoy this artform.

As a reborn artist i am always striving to improve my technique and this comes with much practice, so with each new reborn i work very hard to get it looking as realistic as possible. Many hours are spent on reserching pictures of newborn babies for skin tones and colouring, every detail is looked at so that i can achieve the desired effect............this enables me to make my reborn babies truely one of a kind.

Please note that these beautiful baby dolls are not childrens play toys but are a collectors heirloom to hand down for many generations to come.
